Journey into Silver's Past: A Resource for Collectors of Old Silver Bars
W.G. Buschmeyer & Son
WGB bars have become quite collectible, particularly after discovered they were related to the Buschmeyer bars. This old refiner operated out of Louisville, KY. Great looking pieces.
Love this 8 oz odd weight that I’ve owned for quite awhile. The colors are fantastic. Big fan of the mold.Reverse pic.
Here are some great pieces from Brian R’s collection. Awesome!
Stunning trio here. Really love the 5 oz odd weight. Tough bar to find. That 5 is special. Great character!

I can probably give you a lot of background information about the vintage W.G.B. silver bars. Too much to type. I was the chemical engineer that set up their refinery. circa 1980.. Email me, I will give you my phone number. You can then call me and I can give you the whole history of those bars. A couple of the bars you have pictures of – I poured myself.
My apology for the delay. That’s amazing to hear. I’m traveling now with family, but would love a short note on the location and formal name of the organization, as well as estimated number of years in business and approximate years, size of organization and any affiliations with other refiners. This is really cool. I appreciate the note. I can’t believe you recognize the bars I own and poured! Wow.

Hello Henry,
I have a 10 oz W.G.B. bar with a JB stamp on the bottom of the bar, might you have any info as to who the JB stamp might be?
Thank for your time
Richard
