Quality Recover Systems, A Division of Buschemeyers

Really excited to do an update today on a very sought after hallmark, Buschemeyers. This is an old refiner apparently founded in 1865, but very little information has been found. I was able to recently purchase a few larger pieces that are a scarce variety and came with assay papers and invoice. Finding old invoices is a thrill among hunters of vintage silver bars and rarely happens. These two large bars were done by QRS with Buschemeyers hallmark for a hospital in Kentucky, which provided the raw industrial product to QRS and had them refine for a fee and then took possession of the bars as an investment. According to the seller I bought from, they were purchased recently from the hospital who had the bars sitting in a vault for the last 40+ years. Incredible!

The envelope that invoice and letter came in.
Amazing to see this letter accompany the actual bar.
An old tattered invoice from 1986.
Here is the bar that goes with the provenance above. This was the shipping bag it came in.
34.5 oz also came from same hospital, but didn’t have the paperwork, but did have the shipping bag.

Side view. Incredible character on these.
Edge of bar with layers for days!

Really pleased to share another absolute stunner, large wide pour variety. This one was shared by fellow collector Mike K. Really appreciate the share here, Mike!

Spectacular lines and toning.
Reverse pic. Loads of character.
Letter from QRS to customer at the time. Super cool!
Invoice. So rare to have documentation on these pieces.
